Kurt Schabes, DDS
Dr. Schabes graduated magna cum laude from Loyola University School of Dentistry and has practiced in Ada since 1985. Dr. Schabes is a member of Omicron Kappa Upsilon (Honorary Dental Society), and Alpha Sigma Nu (National Jesuit Honor Society). He is also a member of the Pierre Fauchard Academy, the American Dental Association, the Michigan Dental Association, the Kent County Dental Society and the Chicago Dental Society. Dr. Schabes belongs to the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and has attended numerous continuing education courses relative to all aspects of general and cosmetic dentistry. He volunteers at both Mel Trotter Dental Clinic and Baxter Community Center Dental Clinic and has served on several medical/dental mission trips to Central America. Dr. Schabes works with Donated Dental Services of Kent County and the National Foundation of Dentistry for the Handicapped. He has been involved with the annual Grand Rapids Children's Museum Tooth Time Educational Event since 2004.
Outside of the office Dr. Schabes enjoys spending time with his family along with reading, cycling, hiking and kayaking.
Tammy, DA - Dental Assistant
Tammy graduated from Heartlands Dental Assisting Program in 1987 and completed her radiology certification at Ferris State University in 1989. She has been practicing with Dr. Schabes since 2000 and has more 20 years of experience in chair side assisting including 11 years in an orthodontic practice. Tammy has attended a number of continuing education courses over the years dealing with clinical aspects of dental assisting and patient management. She also volunteers her time with Dr. Schabes at the Mel Trotter Dental Clinic in Grand Rapids and has been a part of the Tooth Time Event at the Grand Rapids Children's Museum for Children's Dental Health Month.
Outside the office Tammy enjoys spending time with her family and attending her children's sporting events. She also enjoys camping with both family and friends.
