Preventative
Preventive dentistry is the cornerstone of a disease-free mouth. It involves daily care, proper nutrition, regular oral cleanings and clinical exams to help maintain optimal health. You will love the way your teeth feel after a thorough cleaning from one of our gentle and professional dental hygienists. Using the latest technology such as ultrasonics allows them to remove plaque and tartar comfortably and efficiently. Ultrasonic devices use gentle, high frequency sound waves to create a vibration that removes deposits and debris more effectively and easily with less scraping. Our prophy jet air polishers remove stain using a baking soda spray to get your teeth their whitest. In addition to your cleaning we will provide a thorough examination which includes inspection of all teeth and gum tissue, an oral cancer evaluation, any necessary x-rays, and a blood pressure check. We will also show you how to maintain your smile through proper brushing and flossing techniques. Catching dental disease early, leads to less invasive and more affordable treatment.
Periodontal (Gum) Treatment
A healthy smile depends on healthy gums. With recent studies showing that people with gum disease are at an increased risk for cardiovascular disease, a healthy mouth is more important than ever. Unfortunately, many adults have some degree of gum disease which can lead to bad breath, bleeding gums, gum recession, sensitivity, and in the worst case, tooth loss. In fact, periodontal disease is the most common cause of tooth loss among adults. We offer the latest gum treatments to stop gum disease from progressing. This includes special ultrasonic instruments that remove tartar and plaque from below the gumline (where periodontal disease can lead to bone loss), medications, and lasers to kill bacteria that cause gum disease. Once periodontal disease has been diagnosed we will do our best to make sure that it is treated with the most current techniques and educate you on the best home care so that together we can strive to make your teeth last a lifetime.
